Chalet la Maitreya

Chalet La Maitreya presents the very best in Alpine hospitality where the guests will enjoy a feeling of being home away from home, all in a setting of laid back luxury.
With a roaring log fire, sauna, a truly mouth-watering cuisine, friendly and welcoming hosts who will offer a personal service which is very hard to beat , La Maitreya is the perfect Alpine retreat.
The chalet, which is over 500 years old, sleeps up to 20 people in style and comfort and supply all the necessary amenities.
The views from La Maitreya's south-facing terraces and balconies are just amazing!
La Maitreya is situated just outside Vaujany, and in the winter, we provide free minibus shuttles to take you to and from the slopes. Vaujany and nearby Alpe d´Huez together have over 250km of piste to enjoy - truly something for skiers and MTB enthusiasts of all abilities. There's lots to do here, winter and summer alike - skiing, hiking, ice-skating, swimming in the winter, with cycling, MTB, water sports etc.

La Maitreya has 8 rooms, sleeping from 2 to 4 people, each of which has its own en suite bathroom, with shower, WC and basin.

The rooms are beautifully furnished and most have south-facing balconies from which to admire the views of Lac Verney in the valley below.

The living room in the chalet is warm, cosy and inviting and features a traditional wood-burning fireplace with comfy sofas to snuggle up on after a hard day out.

The dining room is located nearby and provides a wonderful place to relax and exchange news and views with your fellow guests.

There's a separate TV room with DVD player, where you can take in your favourite movie in comfort.

Or, you might want to take advantage of our sauna. With bathrobes provided, all you have to do is relax!

Breakfast: This is served buffet-style in the dining room from 8 am. All days a hot option will be provided, along with a selection of French pastry, breads, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit etc.

Afternoon tea: A selection of tasty cakes and bakes will be waiting for you when you get back off the slopes. The freshly baked cakes are served with different kind of tea's.

Snacks  like anti-pasti, taps and local cheese: We serve all kinds of tasty snacks from the South  of Europe while you are enjoying the most beautiful wine's in front of the fireplace. 

Children's tea (if required): served at 5:30pm, we are pleased to provide a separate meal for our smaller guests, with tasty and healthy things to eat!

Dinner: The highlight of the day for many, dinner is a truly mouth-watering 3-course menu.
You will enjoy the most exciting dishes and you will be surprised by the creativity of our chef while he is serving his amuses'.  A true culinary experience! 

All of our staff are given one day off per week. On this day, a continental style breakfast will still be served for you and you will need to eat out for dinner in the evening. Your hosts will be happy to advise you on suitable local restaurants and to make a table reservation on your behalf.

We are pleased to offer the following additional services to our guests:

• Personal service which is very hard to beat, which includes assistance whenever required for renting ski equipment, reservation of ski lessons and lift passes and all other extras we provide to let you have an amazing ski holiday  

• Transfers from Grenoble (1.5 hours), Chambéry (2 hours) or Lyon (2.5 hours) airports, for which a small charge is payable.

• Help with arranging child care in the award-winning crèche in Vaujany;
