Crans Montana, originally two villages which are merging at the fringes, has been attracting skiers for over 100 years. It is set on a sunny, south-facing shelf and views of the Alps are breathtaking. The resort centres may not be the most charming, but it has a wonderful woodland setting. There is also a lot of shopping available.
