The Grossarl valley is dedicated to alpine ski sport. Skiers, snowboarders as well as ski mountaineerers, cross country skiers and winter walkers will just love it here.
The village of Grossarl (920 m) is the main resort and is located in the middle of the valley at the starting-point for the award winning Grossarl Valley - Dorfgastein ski circuit, one of the most modern and best extebded ski area in the province of Salzburg.
The slopes of the secluded village of Grossarl are linked to Dorfgastein in the better known Gastein Valley. Runs are varied and long - from top to bottom, about 8km/5 miles to either village - with a good mix of open and woded runs amid lovely scenary.

Grossarl is a base for many lovely walks to mountain huts (alms) open to the public, hence the nickname "Valley of the Alms".
