Holidays in the Grosser Arber, Bavaria

Ski and Summer holidays in Grosser Arber:

The Grosser Arber (1456 m), is the highest peak in the Bavarian-Bohemian-Mountain Range, located in eastern Bavaria along the border with the Czech Republic.

The beauty of this national park is magnificent, with a large variety of flora and fauna, and impressive natural phenomena. The Rissloch-Waterfalls, various moors, the glacial lakes in their steep-walled cirques and the primeval forest add to the distinctive character of this original area.

As early as 1939, large parts of the area were put under protection, so as to preserve it's beauty and to keep it unique.

Ski Holidays:

The main lifts take you up just underneath the summit of the Grosser Arber. From this point you have a choice of runs, varying in length and severity, with terrific views across the Bavarian and Bohemian Forest. There is also the marvelous 5 km long descent down to the town of Bodenmais.

The cross-country skiing centres Bretterschachten and Scheibe offer 90 km of cross-country trails.
