Summer holidays in Meribel:
Summertime it is an ideal base to explore the beauty of the area. There are many hiking trails, aimed at all levels. The local bureau des guides will also be able to supply mountain guides to help you discover the higher altitude trails.
There is a nature reserve below the Vanoise National Park. Created in 1990, it stretches from Lake Tueda to the Gebroulaz glacier via “Le Saut” refuge, along the Doron stream. It encompasses 2700 acres of natural preserved beauty. Around Lake Tueda, Cembro pines grow, a very rare sort of alpine evergreen. A marked botanical trail allows visitors to discover 80 species of Alpine flora.
Other sports and activities in the area include horse riding, water sports on the River Doron, indoor and outdoor climbing. Cultural events take place throughout the summer months.
