Wildschönau is the name given to a group of small resorts in the Tirol - Niederau, Auffach and Oberau.
Niederau is the most well known of the three and has long been a favourite of British visitors and their families. It is the main resort in the area and is quite spread out. All three villages are linked by a local bus service.
Whilst the skiing is not the highest and most extensive, the atmosphere is typically Austrian, with horse drawn sleighs and onion-shaped church domes. The feel is relaxed and friendly and the scenery is beautiful.
