Welcome to Chalet Hepi in the quiet, traditional village of Obertraun on the shore of Lake Hallstatt. Larry & Lisa Hepi, professional caterers from England, have been living in Austria since 2003 enjoying the skiing in the Winter & the hiking and cycling in the Summer.

Sleep well in our comfortable guest rooms and wake up to spectacular views of the Dachstein Mountains from the comfort of your bed.
  • The Chalet has four newly refurbished double bedrooms all furnished with traditional Austrian pine furniture and each with its own en-suite bathroom with shower.
  • Most of the bedrooms have a south facing balcony with spectacular panoramic views out to the Krippenstein mountain. All bedrooms contain a Sat TV.
  • The rooms are serviced daily, and all bedding and towels, tea and coffee making facilities are provided.
  • On the top floor in the lounge area is a log burning stove and a mini bar stocked with beer, wine and soft drinks.




Cuisine:

We know from our own experiences that good quality food is an important integral part of an enjoyable holiday experience.  Larry worked in England as an Executive Chef and has more than a keen interest in good quality, inspiring food.  Our aim is to deliver dishes using fresh ingredients representing the best of the regional specialities and some well known popular dishes all in a relaxed, attentive and friendly atmosphere.
  • Your day starts with a typical hearty Austrian breakfast that will set you up for a day on the slopes. Breakfast consists of, breads from the local craft baker, regional cheese, ham & salami, homemade jams and marmalade, yogurt, cereals, boiled free-range eggs, fresh fruit, selection of teas, fresh ground coffee, hot chocolate and fruit juice. A cooked English breakfast on one day.
  • When you return from the days adventures, afternoon tea will be waiting for you. A fine selection of homemade Austrian or English treats for you to sample in the comfort of the lounge. To wash the cakes down a selection of beverages are on offer including the favourite apres ski tipple of Gluhwein (mulled wine) or hot chocolate with rum, tea or coffee.
  • Dinner is served at 7.30 pm allowing you time to freshen up. We serve a three course dinner, freshly prepared each day. Our menus are designed to include creatively prepared, seasonal ingredients. We offer the finest of local Austrian specialities along side a variety of simply great dishes.  Menus can be adapted to cater for allergies, intolerances or dislikes. 
  • A selection of soft drinks, wine and beer served throughout dinner are included in the package price, the perfect way to unwind after a hard day on the piste.
