At the heart of the Pyrenees, the Tourmalet ski area is the largest in the French Pyrenees. Its 100km of slopes extend between altitudes of 1250 and 2877m, from Barèges to the summit of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre. On the eastern slopes, at 1800m, La Mongie offers some fabulous panoramas that stretch across the horizon.

From La Mongie, a 15-minute cable car ride takes you to the Pic du Midi observatory, where, in a single gaze, you can take in the whole of the Pyrenean mountain chain, the plains of the Grand Sud and the foothills of the Massif Central.
