Hochkoenig Ski, Snowboard & Summer Holidays

The picturesque Austrian villages of Maria Alm, Hintermoos, Hinterthal, Dienten and Mühlbach combine to provide a sizeable ski area, known as the Hochkönig, on a par, in terms of area with much better known Kitzbuhel.The area is named after the spectacular mountain that overlooks it and offers a wonderful choice of activities for winter or summer holidays.

Ski holidays in Hochkoenig:

The area has 150kms of piste, and although not all linked, there is a good bus service linking the various areas. Maria Alm is one of the largest villages, and has the main tourist office. It is a charming, typically Austrian-style place, with a lovely old church and pretty chalets.

The Hochkönig is also covered by the Ski Amade lift pass - which opens up an enormous ski area for visitors. Zell am See and Kaprun area also within easy driving distance.

Summer holidays in Hochkoenig:

The whole area offers an enormous choice of activities for everyone, with glorious scenery, fabulous views and a chance to really de-stress and enjoy!

Winter activities include:

tobogganing, curling, sleigh rides, winter walking trails, swimming and ice-skating

Summer activities include:

superb scenery, hiking trails, climbing, golf, horse riding, mountain biking, swimming, fishing and much more

Apres ski: very Austrian style, Maria Alm has the most animated bars and restaurants. Variety of restaurants for eating out.
Non skiers: the area comprises a few villages, of which Maria Alm has possibly the most of slope entertainment such as curling, toboganning, swimming, sleigh rides, bowling and nice walks.
