 Main Chalet 
  • Chalet Ambroise, a beautiful 18th century chalet, started life in 2004, when we bought it and renovated it ourselves, with the help of some excellent local tradesmen. Today, Chalet Ambroise is not only our much loved home, but also our all year round B&B and catered chalet business.
  • Our chalet is located in a small, sunny, quiet hamlet on the outskirts of Thones, an easy 9kms (15mins) drive up a gently winding main road, to the two ski resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand/Chinaillon and a 30mins drive to Annecy and its stunning lake.
  • We have 3 charming double/twin ensuite bedrooms, and a large, 2 bedroom suite sharing a shower room, separate WC, private kitchenette and sitting room with TV.  Our total capacity is 10 people.
  • Our chalet is ideal for individuals, couples or groups of upto 10, looking for a relaxing or activity break and a good nights sleep in peaceful, cosy surroundings.
  • All year round, we offer B&B with occasional evening dining, and in summer or winter, we also offer Catered/Half Board FLEXIBLE stays of between 3 to 7 nights for groups of upto 8 (+2) on a self-drive basis or with airport and chalet-resort transfers. Come when you want and leave when you want!
  • We are ideally situated between the lake and mountains, for those wishing to participate in the multitude of activities available, whether it be skiing, boarding, paragliding, walking, hiking, biking or for those lounge lizards amongst us who just want to have a lie in, leisurely breakfast, chill and take some rays.

Accommodation:

  • 3 spacious, charming double/twin bedrooms, all with king-sized or twin beds and private ensuite facilities (shower, washbasin, WC and centrally heated towel rails) 
  • Large suite comprising 2 bedrooms (1 x king size and 1 x Double with Single bunk bed over), shower room and separate WC, private sitting room with kitchenette, sitting area with TV/DVD.
  • Quality white, egyptian cotton bedlinen, 4 seasons duvets, fluffy towels and bathrobes(winter stays min 3 nights), hair-dryers and complimentary toiletries in each ensuite
  • Luxurious sheepskin and long haired goat rugs in each bedroom and scattered throughout the chalet (keep your tootsies nice and warm)
  • Lovely cosy south facing loung/diner/open kitchen
  • Crackling wood burning stove
  • Large south facing terrasse, where in summer, we serve leisurely breakfasts and evening dining lit by oil lamps and candles
  • Ample off street parking available.
  • Secure barn available to store sports equipment, motorbikes and bikes etc.

  • Specialities include fondues, raclette, tartiflette, asian, indian, french and even the odd stonking good steak/fish and chips served with homemade mushy peas!
