  • Situated in the Grand Massif, Les Carroz is only 45 minutes from Geneva and Chamonix, linked to the wonderful powder bowls of Flaine, the medieval town of Samoens, the traditional farming village of Morillon and the remote awe inspiring mountains of Sixt.
  • Whilst being a well-known winter ski resort, Les Carroz has a thriving village community all year round. Perched on a sun baked plateau, Les Carroz is beautiful all year round. Due to the close proximity to Mont Blanc, Les Carroz benefits from it's own microclimate ensuring high levels of snowfall throughout the winter season and a good deal of sunshine throughout the summer months - average temp 24 centigrade
  • In Les Carroz (1140m- 2500m)  you have access to the 265 km of ski slopes that make up the Grand Massif. With the high "snow sure"  resort of Flaine within easy reach!
  • Les Carroz itself offers an untouched slice of french life whilst retaining it's traditional Savoyard feel , it also boasts up to 28 restaurants, 10 ski hire shops, 6 bars, 5 boutiques, 2 supermarkets, a cinema, bakery and a nightclub, not to mention it's weekly farmers market specialising in delicious traditional Savoyard fare.

Chalet Le Balcon is less than 5 minutes walk to the village and the newly refurbished main gondola lift . The Les Carroz gondola is a gateway on to the Grand Massif from which Flaine can be easily reached, this region has had the best average snow fall in the Alps in the last 18 years.

More Info:

  • We offer free ski guiding normally twice a week, but more on request
  • We also offer free snow shoe guiding   
  • There are child care facilities in the village please contact us for further details as these need to be booked in advance of your holiday.
  • The area is split into the Massif and the Grand Massif; 3 green, 14 blue, 9 red and 2 black runs make up the Massif/Les Carroz area and we recommend you take some time to experience the Grand Massif as well, which offers 13 green, 41 blue, 56 red, and 15 black.
  • The powder bowls in Flaine are superb and at this elevation(2500m) you are normally well above cloud level so don't forget the sunscreen.
  • In total there are over 265 kilometres of piste to explore.
