  • Chalet la Chouette is a newly renovated chalet with a warm, relaxed atmosphere and friendly on-site hosts to help you make the most of your holiday.  The light and spacious feel, produced by generous room sizes and large picture windows, has been enhanced with traditional features (such as the log burning stove) to create a cosy alpine retreat.
  • Just two minutes walk from the main ski lift and ten minutes from the charming village centre, Chalet la Chouette is ideally located for a hassle free holiday. 
  • Les Contamines (the 'hidden gem' of the Alps) manages to offer a fantastic snow record and great skiing for all levels (including some outstanding off-piste) whilst retaining the atmosphere of a traditional french village.  An hour from Geneva, and just 15 minutes from the motorway and train station, the resort is easily accessible by car, train or plane.

Accommodation:

  • The accommodation sleeps up to 10 guests in 3 ensuite twin/double rooms and a 2 bedroom family suite with large bathroom and separate WC.  We are also able to add extra beds or cots to most of the rooms.  Each room has a fantastic view and is individually furnished with comfortable seating.
  • A cosy TV room (with British TV, books, magazines, games, music and DVDs) opens off the spacious open-plan lounge and dining area; a lovely light room with superb views and French doors leading onto the terrace.
  • Other facilities include a large drying room with equipment storage and a computer corner with free internet access.

Cuisine:

A hearty breakfast of freshly baked bread and jam, cereals and fresh fruit salad, as well as a different cooked option each day, is accompanied by a weather forecast and advice on where the best runs and off-piste are likely to be found. 

Afternoon tea is served in front of the log burning stove and includes hot drinks and a selection of homemade cakes and biscuits, such as banana and cherry loaf, chocolate brownies or apple cake.

A delicious three course evening meal (served with house wine, local cheeses and coffee) is provided 6 nights of the week, giving you the chance to sample one of the excellent savoyard restaurants in the village (which we are happy to reccommend and book for you).

  • Although we follow the traditional catered chalet format that has been so successfully tried and tested in the past, we also believe that our passion for this area and the way of life that we have chosen will help to make your holiday a truly fantastic experience.  We are enthusiastic in our aim to be as flexible as possible in order to create a package that meets the needs of your group; please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will do our best to come up with your perfect mountain break.
  • We are happy to assist with all aspects of your holiday and are able to organise transfers, ski passes, lessons, childcare, equipment hire, restaurants, and activities.
  • Both the chalet and the resort are great for families.  The daycare centre offers an excellent range of childcare packages and the village-based nursery slopes are ideal for children and beginners, with helpful lift staff and hot chocolate at hand in the nearby cafes and restaurants.  We offer a discount for young children and provide early meal times for them, which allows the grownups to enjoy their evening too.
