La Grange de Chemex

La Grange de Chemex is an exceptional chalet in the Swiss Alps, dating from 1870, just below Morgins, with easy access to the Portes du Soleil and other resorts such as Villars, Verbier etc. It has just undergone a 5 year programme of meticulous renovation which has involved a complete rebuild using original materials and modern bathroom suites and a state of the art open plan kitchen. We are 10 minutes away from Morgins village centre (one of the prettiest chocolate box Swiss resorts!). It has the advantage of a direct, 75 minute, train service to GVA, via a connection with the mountain cog railway which passes nearby and also takes you to the cable car station at Champery.

We are passionate skiers, snow-shoers and mountain walkers and chose this location for its convenience to Geneva Airport and its stunning alpine views. The chalet is unusually bright for a historic building and we worked extensively with Patrimony Suisse during the planning phase to ensure that we protected the historic fabric, whilst bringing it up to modern luxury standards.

We will do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. We will be happy (on request) to guide you down our favourite pistes and end up in our favourite tucked away restaurants. If you want to snow-shoe or cross country ski it will be our pleasure to arrange trips out.

We have 4 double bedrooms with balconies and ensuite luxury bathroom or luxury ensuite shower room, including a large upstairs bedroom with a double and a single bed, this bedroom has use of the shower room at the bottom of its staircase, there is also the possiblity of a double bed in the Home Cinema area, which is ideal for children - these are served by the shower room.

The chalet has an immense open-plan living space with a central fireplace, which is built as a mini-chalet with a slate roof!

The professional kitchen has a, state of the art, central island with range cooker, induction wok and Tepan hob.

The chalet is a fully equipped home from home with a large DVD collection and free WiFi. It is extremely comfortable and very very stylish, on a par with the best Swiss properties found in Verbier and similar to luxury Lodges in Colorado.

Breakfast sets us up for a good ski day and we always serve a range of cerials, fruits home made jams and eggs to order. Proper ground coffee of course and fresh OJ.

For Half Board guests dinner is 'en famile' and is a healthy, hearty 3 course affair with 1/2 bottle of good quality house wine. Vegetarian meals are no problem for us on request 1 week in advance please. We are happy to tailor the cuisine to your needs.
