About La Petite Ecole
Accommodation:
Having completed the renovation of our nineteenth century village school our brand new, luxury catered chalet, ‘La Petite Ecole', is now available for the 2010/11 season. It is situated 150 metres from the La Roche chairlift and pistes and offers the following:
- Beautiful, spacious chalet accommodation with bags of character and a high quality finish.
- Sleeps 6 people comfortably in 3 bedrooms; one double, one twin and a bunk room that sleeps 2.
- 2 bathrooms both with WCs and one with jacuzzi bath.
- Underfloor heating and a private ski room.
- Large sociable open plan living area with vaulted ceilings, comfortable sofas and a log burning stove.
- For entertainment there is a selection of games, DVDs, a Nintendo Wii with Wii Fit and a large plasma screen with satellite TV.
- Situated on the first floor the living area allows you to enjoy the fantastic surrounding views.
Cuisine:
We appreciate that both before and after a hard day on the slopes you need food that is not only of a high standard but that is hearty and satisfying. To start your day we serve fresh coffee and tea (in bed if you prefer!) and a selection of breakfasts including freshly baked croissants and baguettes and a different cooked option each day. On your return you can relax with tea, coffee or hot chocolate and feast on homemade cakes and biscuits. Six evenings a week we will carefully prepare a four course meal using fresh and locally sourced ingredients, with complimentary beer and wine to be served at your table. Below is a selection of sample menus:
- Carrot & Coriander soup served with freshly baked bread
- Duck with a Ruby Sauce, Dauphinoise potatoes, Buttered Mangetout, Roasted Swede with Parmesan.
- Homemade Passionfruit Icecream with fresh fruit.
- Baked Camembert with Red Onion Marmalade
- Orange & Herb Crusted Salmon with a Hollandaise Sauce, New Potatoes with Mint, Parsley and Chives, Beetroot bake, French Beans
- Homemade Lemon Tart
- Red Onion and Goats Cheese Tart
- Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb with a Borderlaise Sauce, Boulangere Potatoes, Honey & Mustard Roast Parsnips, Braised Carrots with Tarragon
- Baileys & Chocolate Baked Croissants with Cream
