• Le Mont Dore is located in the valley at the foot of the Puy De Sancy 1865m (this is the highest point outside of the Pyrenees and the Alps). Astride the Dordogne River the resort offers great summer and winter activities - for all ages.
• Originally developed in the 18th and 19th century as a spa resort where people could take the local cures, Le Mont Dore boasts some of the firsts in France;
• The first electrical funicular - which still runs in the summer months.

• Le Mont Dore is also a well equipped winter sports resort. There are over 100km of pistes in the area and the link to its sister resort (Super Besse) provides 85kms of pistes.
• In addition to well prepared and groomed pistes there is easily accessible off piste skiing and the couloir skiing is considered by some to be amongst the best in France. There is also a local cross country ski area of 26kms, and a link to Sancy West, offering a further 250km of trails.
