The ski resort:
  • Ste Foy is a true French Alpine village in the Tarentaise Valley, nestled near to the mega-resorts of Val d'Isère, Tignes, Les Arcs, La Plagne. Ste Foy is a 'secret off-piste haven for those in the know' (Where to Ski and Snowboard 2003).
  • Only developed since 1991, it has built a deserved reputation as the best kept secret in the Alps.
  • Small in lift number and development, it is huge on character, peace and powder. Both lifts and slopes are uncrowded and the snow usually stays in excellent condition on the pistes due to the small number of visitorsl.
  • You can ski back to the chalet which is 100m from lift office, ski school, supermarket, restaurants, bars and ski hire etc.
  • Chalet Morion is nearly as busy in the summer as in the winter season. Unlike some ski resorts - in the summer the pistes above Sainte Foy revert back to green pasture and it is a tranquil and beautiful place to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery.
In the Summer:
  • Surrounded by the Vanoise and the Grand Paradis National Parks, walk around the chalet through larch forests, alpine meadows, historic villages and numerous mountain lakes - watching out for ibex, chamois, marmots and eagles.
  • Many of the hiking routes also double as mountain bike routes. Rock climbing, tennis and golf are popular. On the Isere river there is world class canoeing with instruction available for all levels. White water rafting is also popular with the adrenaline sports of hydro-speeding, paragliding and canyoning. There is, of course, glacier skiing in Tignes.
  • Less energetic are the festive fete days throughout the area with demonstrations of traditional arts and crafts – or simply lounge on the chalet's south and west facing balcony admiring the views over the Mont Pourri, Aiguille Rouge and Dome de Turia.
