Traffic Light System to Show Availability:

If you have set and updated your availability, when a visitor views your availability page, he will see a weekly calendar.

The calendar will show red, green and amber traffic lights - according to your reservation status. Let's call this the Traffic Light Calendar.

A red light means no availability, green means there is availability, and amber can mean one of 2 things:

  • either you have other requests for the period which haven't been confirmed or,
  • you are booked for part of the week, but have availability for part of the week.

If they mouseover an amber light, they will see whether there is part or possible availability.

This calendar is controlled and updated by you. You can turn the light to red for weeks when you are completely full and do not want further enquiries, or to amber when you think you may have some availability left, and of course back to green if you have cancellations.

How to Set up Availability:

When you first log in to the Control Panel you will be asked to follow a few steps to set up your availability. (Your username and password should have been sent to you by email - if you haven't received it, please contact us ).

Once you have entered your Username and Password, you will be at Step 1.
Step 1 - This is a screen with your company details. Please update anything that is not correct. Then click the form button.

Step 2 - The next screen lists the properties that you have on Chalets Direct. The first time you see this page you will see that none of your properties have the availibility function enabled. To set it up for each property, just click on the property name.

This will bring you to the next screen - the Availability Calendar.

By default the Calendar is set in weeks from Saturday - Saturday.

If your main changeover day is Saturday, or if you have more than one changeover day, the Calendar will be set up Saturday - Saturday.

If you choose a different day for your main changeover day you will see that the Calendar will refresh, and the weeks will start on the day you specify. Just how clever is that ?!

Fill in the total number of beds you have left for each week.

Then click the Update button.

You will be taken back to the list of properties, so that you can then do the set up for each one.

When you've done them all just click Finished - and that's it your availability is set up !
