| Hello, I know this is rather off tangent but I thought I would suggest it. We run group ski holidays in British Columbia and have a couple of 1 week options. Now it might sound like a strange suggestion as an alternative to a ski chalet holiday but bear with me... the holidays are mainly for solo skiers who want to experience Canada's empty slopes and great snow conditions but don't have a partner or friends who are keen to join them. The average age this year is 51 so there are lots of people in their 40's and 60's. The week is centered around professional guiding and coaching so you'll ski lots, learn lots, and meet a great group of likeminded people - from all over the world but about 50% are Brits.

Covered parking at the hotel is 50 euros a week but there is outdoor parking nearby if preferred. Eurostar travellers have just a short ride up the mountain to reach us so there are no lengthy transfers.

La Ferme du Chateau offers a warm & friendly welcome in this beautifully renovated Savoyard farmhouse with its exceptionally spacious accommodation in 6 en-suite rooms, great food prepared by a professional and quality wines. All rooms can be twin or double rooms, all of which have bath and/or shower facilities plus branded toiletries, dressing gowns, hair dryers and access to an outdoor sunken jacuzzi. The living / dining area is extremely spacious yet homely and is centered around a wood clad open fire with lots of comfy sofas in which to relax with a chilled glass of wine and canapes after a day on the slopes.
It is fully catered which includes breakfast & afternoon tea on each day, pre-dinner drinks & canapes, a 4- course evening meal which is accompanied by free flowing quality wines & beer. There is also an early children’s supper available. The evening meal is provided on 6 evenings leaving you one evening to sample the excellent local restaurants.
La Ferme is in the centre of the beautiful village of La Chapelle d'Abondance, part of the vast Portes du Soleil ski region, offering a combination of the best of traditional French villages with the excitement of a large ski area. La Ferme is within walking/skiing distance of the local runs, has direct access to the Portes du Soleil, local bars including a microbrewery, shops and restaurants; but we also have in resort transport so can start from any point in the valley and can pop to Chatel to sample the apres ski there too.

I think the week would suit you well as the chalet group is made up of several small groups, including another solo skier of the same age whose wife doesn't ski either.

We can offer you the week of 13th or 20th of January, at chalet Lagauzere. There is already a solo skier staying with us for these 2 weeks (very social older male) who very much enjoys the company of others both on and off the slopes.
Chalet Laguazere is smaller chalet with just 4 bedrooms, for a more friendly family (rather than hostel)feel. It's a bright modern space with great views across to the piste. The many balconies take full advantage of the south and west aspects and a large hot tub is housed on the private west facing terrace, perfect for an end of day soak.
The location of the chalet is ideal, situated just across from (few mins walk) the Perrieres Express chair lift that takes you straight into the Les Gets Bowl and connects you to the Portes Du Soleil, one of the largest linked areas in Europe (with over 650km of amazing runs, covering both France and Switzerland and including Avoriaz) It is also only a 10 min stroll from the village center (however there is also a bus just across the road).
Les Gets is one of the closest resorts to Geneva airport, transfers taking just 75 min.
The Price for one week fully catered (including single supplement) is £659. This includes:
