For a particularly family friendly and cost effective ski holiday try the French Pyrenees. Skiing, accommodation, piste side food/drinks, restaurants, tuition etc. all work out about 1/3rd less than the Alps.
We are based in the largest ski resort in the French Pyrenees in the traditional, picturesque, mountain spa village of Bareges, where you can ski home to enjoy a relaxing evening in the spa and our renowned cooking. The Grand Tourmalet resort has over 110km of piste spread over a very large domain, which gives famous off-piste skiing (including the Pic du Midi at 2877m with over 1km of off-piste descent), as well as very accessible beginner slopes and blue run level main access pistes. We are also a very snow sure resort with lifts going higher than any in the "Portes du Soleil" for example and extensive snow making facilities just in case.
The chalet is a beautifully restored, centrally located village house with large en-suite rooms, sauna, heated equipment room, lounge with wood burning stove (+ bar, books and games), big-screen home cinema, free wi-fi access... We charge €495 pp with a discount of 10% for groups of 8 or more.

We are conveniently located between the quaint ski villages of Morillon and Les Esserts and 5kms from Samoens, located for easy access to the Grand Massif ski area which links 6 ski resorts via the lift systems. There is 265kms of pistes and we guarantee there is a brilliant range of slopes for differing abilities in your family. We are 200m from a blue run which you can use if the snow conditions are good. Ski school 1.5 kms from chalet.
We have all the facilities you need to make your ski break enjoyable and comfortable. We have a large living room with real log fire,a separate dining room with flexible seating arrangements. With stunning views. We have very reliable local transfer company that offers our guests a discount, we take & collect you to/from the lifts if you can't ski back.

Location: Les Deux Alpes | Hi Clair,
We only have the week commencing January 26, 2019 available within your date range, but we can offer this to you, with exclusive use, for 6500 Euros, which is very close to your requested pricing.
This is our catered rate, which includes a substantial breakfast with cooked option on 7 days of your holiday as well as afternoon cakes to come back to. On six days of your holiday, we provide canapes with sparkling wine, followed by a three course evening meal with beer, wine and soft drinks included. We can also offer a earlier children's supper.
Our chalet is great for kids, with plenty to keep them entertained, including a cinema room with 6 recliner chairs, giant beanbags and surround sound, an XBox, UK Sky TV, a games room with pool table and table football and an outdoor hot tub.
The chalet has a spacious lounge with wood burning stove, 5 ensuite bedrooms (two of which we can configure as a quad and a triple for the children, leaving 3 doubles for the adults), drying room with heated boot warmers, sauna, gym with fitness equipment and massage area and restaurant quality catering with quality wines included.
We are located in a satellite village just below the main Les 2 Alpes resort area, but access is easy by a gondola which is within walking distance of the chalet, but we nevertheless offer a shuttle service to and from it each day which only take a couple of minutes. We recommend using one of two ski shops which are beside the beginner pistes and ski school meeting places, so that there is no need to do any walking with the children in ski boots!

Chalet Giffre has a great location in the town. The original farmhouse in the village with a private courtyard and the village on your door step. Just 400m to the church square and Gondola.
We are now in to our 14th Ski season our family run chalet has 6 bedrooms. log burning stove dividing the dinning area and the lounge area. We have a free bar before dinner offering beers, wines, and a few old favourites like G&T`s in front of the log fire.
Fully catered service 6 out of 7 days, cooked breakfast, afternoon tea/coffee freshly baked cakes, 3 course evening meal and cheese board served with cold beers and wine.
No walking in ski boots. Two minibuses servicing the chalet dropping you off at the Gondola 400m in under a minute. We also collect you from 5 diffrent lift stations late afternoon

The chalet is an ancient traditional farm built in 1777 with stones and wood that has been renovated in 2008 with natural materials. It is labelled between "High comfort" and "Luxury" by the tourist office in Saint Martin.
Linked to Les Menuires and Val Thorens (the highest ski resort in Europe) both located in the "vallee des Belleville", Saint Martin is also "a slope away" from Meribel so as from the whole domain of the 3 valleys....
The chalet is self-catered, and catering can be added by our local partner that will organize breakfast & diner. Let us know your requirements we will organize everything.

How does this work for you?
NEW FOR 2019: large outdoor hot tub with amazing views!
We are about 15 minutes from Chatel and provide a private chauffeur driven minibus to the lifts and back each day, accessing PdS ski area - without the need for walking!
Our chalet is massive, with en-suite bedrooms and American-sized suite rooms that have both a bath, separate shower room and TV lounge attached to each of them. With free on-site parking, massive wrap around balconies, large outdoor hot tub with amazing views and WiFi access throughout.
We are very child friendly and also have:
Games room, including full sized table tennis table
Bar billiards and darts room
Log fire snug area
Heated boot rack and large kit area
Welcome drink on arrival
4-course meals with complimentary wines (happy to do earlier children's meal)
Cooked and continental breakfasts
