| Looking for a ski holiday for my wife and I. Ideally somewhere resort based but with opportunity for some easy ski touring day trips or perhaps an overnight trip to a refuge. I would describe my off piste ability as intermediate and my wife as beginner so we are looking for somewhere that might be suitable. Some advice on routes or guide would be appreciated.
We would prefer a catered chalet style accommodation but would consider other options.

The course is aimed at both experienced off piste skiers and good piste skiers looking to venture off piste for the first time. The chalet sleeps 14 people on our off piste week.

Chalet Nordchamp is only an hour from Geneva airport, so nice short transfer times. The ski area is the Grand Massif - 265km of awesome skiing - both in the tree-lined villages and high-up above the tree line in Flaine (2,500m). We hate walking in ski/board boots and reckon guests do too, so we offer a free minibus shuttle for lift drop-off & pick-up. Its just 2-4 minutes to the lift, depending on which of the 3 you choose… so probably less walking in ski boots than a ski in/out chalet! There's some great off-piste in the Gers bowl, and we can hook you up with a guide/refuge-details for touring if that's useful.

The chalet is situated in the Grand Tourmalet resort - largest ski area in the Pyrenees. The resort is great for skiers and boarders of all abilities, with varied groom runs as well as acres of off-piste for advanced skiers including the legendary vertical mile off-piste descent from the Pic du Midi de Bigorre (2877m).
Our accommodation price is just £450 per person half board. The chalet has a sauna, equipment room, dining room and spacious lounge with bar, wood-stove, books & games, free internet and big-screen home cinema. We are based in the centre of the traditional village of Bareges, so close to all of the amenities, including the wonderful thermal baths, which are great for relaxing after a hard day on the slopes.

We might be just exactly what you're looking for. We're based at Samoens 1600 in the French Alps, but we're also the perfect location for the slightly more intrepid skier. You'd probably be good enough to ski back to the chalet - its about 1.5 km through the trees, but we can show you the way on your first day.
 
 
You can ski down to the Refuge to Gers (either off-piste or on the Cascades piste (pictured above) which at 14km long, is the longest blue run in Europe. I think we're a pretty good fit for your request.
We can offer you a super-king double en-suite room here at Chalet La Luge, in La Tzoumaz, with direct access to the Verbier ski area.
There are lots of easy ski tours you can do from here, we do quite a bit ourselves and would be happy to advise. The owner of one of the ski shops also offers 'discovery' touring days, regular guests of ours went out with him last year for their first ever tour and really enjoyed themselves.
You could also stay at a refuge without having to go/ski anywhere extreme!

We have a brilliant chalet here in Les Gets available from w/c 2nd Feb joining an all adult mixed group, taking the last room or various other dates in your date range, see our website for availability. We are part of the massive Portes du Soleil network with over 650kms of piste skiing. The chalet is really close to the pistes and lifts and you can ski right to 100 m of the chalet door.
It has 4 bedrooms with ensuites and can sleep up to 10/12 people in a very modern layout with stunning views and everything you'd expect from a top quality ski chalet. Lots of ski touring options available along with Vallee Blanche in Chamonix. Kavakia is located on the free bus route we do provide drop off services to insure ski school deadlines are met !!!!. Chalet Kavakia is fully catered with breakfast, tea and cake, 4 course meal with quality wine, linen and towels. We are happy to assist with ski lessons, ski equipment and transfers.
We have lived in Les Gets and operated Mr Ski for 15 years so rest assured we are genuine, no what we are doing and there will be no surprises!.
If you don't know Les Gets its a beautiful alpine resort great for all levels of skiers. The village was here long before the skiing so has a nice atmosphere with plenty of bars, restaurants and boutiques etc. We have approximately 70% of repeat bookings - people keep coming back to Les Gets.

| Family owned and run Chalet Brio is available for £620pp and we would love to host some fellow tourers! We know the area very well and can give you some tips on where to go and put you in touch with our great local guides.
We are located in Samoens which is only 50mins from Geneva and part of the Grand Massif ski area, the 4th largest linked ski area in Europe. The highest point reaches 2500m and with 80% North facing slopes means that it is snow sure throughout the season. We are located just a few minutes from 3 of the main ski lifts and we offer courtesy shuttles to whichever lift works for you and we will pick you up again when you’re finished on the slopes so there is no need to wait for ski bus or carry your ski’s around the resort.
The chalet has been built to an exceptional standard with floor to ceiling windows giving amazing views across the valley. We have a large outdoor hot tub, log fire, Wifi, English TV and a separate kids room with large TV and table football.
We offer a fully catered chalet with a big breakfast including croissants, pain au chocolates, cereal, porridge, eggs, bacon, fruit, tea coffee and juices. After a day on the slopes you will be welcomed with a homemade cake and in the evening our chef Joss will prepare for you a four course evening meal including cheeseboard and port which is served with complimentary matched bottled wine and soft drinks.

How are you getting on with your search?
If you are still looking we invite you to stay at Chalet Bernadine, just 55km from Geneva airport and part of the Portes Du Soleil with 630km of skiing.
The snow is amazing and we can pair you with a guide for ski touring adventures. We have had overnights in some lovely refuges in the area so can give you some recommendations there and you could do that on the chalet night off.
We offer warm beds, hot tub, sauna, chauffeur, all your wine, beer and bubbly is on us during dinner, plus a cocktail with your pre-dinner canapes.
The Portes Du Soleil offers excellent skiing/boarding for all abilities with beautiful tree line runs and great unpisted areas to explore. We drive you to and from your choice of lifts in the area so there is no walking about in ski boots and you can tackle a different resort each day.
When you return each day there will be afternoon tea & cakes or hot wings and beer one day if you are so inclined (our fave!) then chill in the hot tub and sauna until dinner is ready.
