| Looking for a chalet for a family holiday - parents and grown up children (plus friends/partners). Husband turns 75 on 17th April so holiday also a celebration. We are helping to pay for most of holiday for the kids so looking for somewhere special but not insensitive to price. It's late in season so looking for snow sure resort, not fussed where. Mixed level of skiing required from beginner to advanced and there is at least 1 non skier in group so resort needs to have some other activities. Preference is self catered as we are on a budget but open to all suggestions. Looking to have a great family holiday and birthday celebration. Likely to be last time we ski as a family so want it to be special!

I would be pleased to offer you Chalet La Luge on a self catered basis for the week of either 11th or 12th April.
The chalet has 6 en-suite bedrooms, all can be arranged with twin or super-king beds, there's a separate TV room, hot tub and sauna. Situated 600m from the pistes and 800m from the resort centre and main télécabine, the free ski bus stops 100m from the chalet, takes you up to the slopes or down the resort.
La Tzoumaz is directly connected to Verbier, all the skiing is from 1500m up to 3300m, ideal for all levels of skier. The slopes here above La Tzoumaz are gentler and quieter generally than those of Verbier, great for beginners, while the more experienced skiers can head over to Verbier and beyond for all that it offers.
There is parking for 4 - 5 cars in front of the chalet, it's an 8 hour drive from Calais (basically motorway all the way, then 14km up the hill from the valley) 1hr 45 from Geneva airport.
There are various bars and restaurants in the resort, along with a few shops, but non-skiers also have a good range of walking paths, and plenty of options to meet the skiers, or also take the lift up and down again to Verbier and meet skiers or have a browse around the shops there. Also possible to get to Mont Fort - the highest point, as a pedestrian.
