- Airport transfers
- English speaking ski schools
- Ski/board hire direct to the chalet
- In-chalet lift pass sales

Location

Chalet Norchamp is only an hour from Geneva airport, so nice short transfer times.  The ski area is the Grand Massif - 265km of awesome skiing - both in the tree-lined villages and high-up (2500m) above the tree line in Flaine.

We hate walking in ski/board boots and reckon guests do too, so we offer a free minibus shuttle for lift drop-off & pick-up.  Just drop us a message when you get on the bubble to come down, and we'll be there to meet you at the bottom.

It’s just a 5 minute walk to the village of Morillon, or 5-10 minutes on the free ski-bus into the bigger Samoens. Samoens has lovely shopping, cafes/bars, ice-skating, botanical garden & spa facilities - so good for any non-ski days.

Accommodation:

Open Plan Living Space
  • large open plan living space on the ground floor of the chalet.
  • four sets of sliding doors
  • lots of natural light.
  • dining tables seating upto 14
  • contemporary sofas
  • 1950s design classic fireside chairs
  • library corner
  • guitar and bodhrán
  • games (ranging from 'Cards Against Humanity' to connect 4)

Bedrooms

There are five bedrooms in total, sleeping a maximum of 14

On the ground floor, there's a standard double room, with the ensuite shower & WC set up as a wet-room.  Its particularly handy for people with reduced mobility.

Upstairs, there are four enourmous ensuite bedrooms:
  • high ceilings reaching up into the roof apex
  • access to the balcony
  • views of the mountains in one direciton, or forest in the other.
  • three rooms made up with kingsize bed + single bed
  • one room made up as 3x singles

Rooms are comfortably furnished & decorated with pieces we've restored or repurposed, and some that we've collected on our travels over the years.  We do love a big fluffy towel, so there's plenty of those, together with snuggly bathrobes.

Ensuite bathrooms

All the ensuites have a thermostatic-controlled Hansgrohe shower (with a fixed head as well as a moveable shower head), wall-mounted WC, hand basin, and a heated towel-rail.  Note there are no actual 'baths', aside from the hot-tub!

Kitchen

During the summer, the chalet is available as a self-catered rental, so we figured you'd be interested to see what's on offer.  Its been designed to be spacious and airy, with plenty of counter-top space, and storage in drawers underneath.  And all the usual big appliances:
  • induction hob
  • electric oven
  • microwave
  • fridge-freezer
  • dishwasher (who wants to do the dishes when they're on holiday?)

Smaller appliances include:
  • Thermomix
  • Magimix food processor
  • Kenwood mixer
  • slow-cookers
  • spiralizer
  • raclette & hot-rock
  • yoghurt maker

There's a decent array of saucepans, frying-pans, chopping boards, sharp knives, cheese graters etc.

For serving up the fruits of the chef's labours, there's simple elegant white crockery, quality viners cutlery, together with wine glasses, champagne flutes and tumblers.

Facilities:

barbecue,  bicycles for hire,  boot dryers,  cot/highchair,  fitness room/gym,  garden,  hot tub (outdoor),  iPod docking station,  jacuzzi,  laundry facilities,  private parking (open),  sauna,  terrace,  wifi (free in-room),  wifi (free public area),  wifi/internet access,  wood burning stove

Cuisine:

We’re passionate about food & great ingredients. Meals are relaxed and plentiful, and of course wine is included (we carefully select bottled wine each season, and write up tasting notes... there's no wine boxes decanted into carafes).

Catered service includes breakfast, afternoon tea/coffee/cake everyday - and 3 course dinner 6 out of the 7 nights - leaving you one night to explore the local restaurants

Buffet Breakfast
  • warm croissants & baguettes
  • a variety of jams & marmalades
  • boiled eggs
  • ham
  • cheese
  • yoghurts
  • cornflakes, branflakes, granolas
  • fruit
  • coffee & tea
  •  juices
We do keep a stock of frosties and coco-pops for the kids, but we'll check with parents first before putting them out, in case you're trying to avoid the sugary-snacks.

Afternoon tea & cake

Favourite homemade goodies:
  • lemon drizzle cake
  • red velvet cupcakes,
  • scones with jam and cream
  • coffee cake
  • chocolate cake

Dinner

We serve a fizz apéro, and three course dinner, followed by coffee,  6 nights of the week.  Chef's night off is usually Thursday.

We usually start the week with a local dish, and finish with an international flavour (apparently you can get 'cheesed out' in the mountains). Favourites so far include

- tartiflette
- boeuf-bourguignon,
- thai red curry
- lamb schwarma

Our cooking style is more relaxed Jamie Oliver style than fine-dining. Its hearty fare for sharing, and plenty of it. You need a good re-fuelling after a day on the mountain.

"Thank you Jayne and Sid for a fabulous New Year skiing week. The chalet is spotlessly clean with lovely large bedrooms, fantastic showers and a large but cozy living area with wood burning stove. Plenty of room for our party of 8 to unwind after a day’s skiing. The sauna, glass of bubbles and hot tub were also a welcome treat! The food was beautiful, amazing well planned menu’s. Was lovely to have a different theme every evening. The children tried some new foods which made such a nice change. They absolutely loved your homemade cakes as did we! Thank you for adapting the menus to suit our dietary needs. Communication was spot on every time, from booking the chalet to collection from the slopes, to booking a restaurant and advice re lessons, transfers, which routes to ski. Jayne’s local knowledge was invaluable. It really is a beautiful place to stay and ski. Thank you for all the little touches that really made our holiday, dropping us to Samoëns to watch the fireworks and picking us up on New Year’s Eve, making sandwiches for us to take on the flight home. Making my daughter’s favourite lemon drizzle cake! (the best she’s ever had!) One of the best holidays we’ve ever been on and wouldn’t hesitate to return next year. 100% a five star review.

"We had a amazing holiday! The chalet and area was beautiful! The best part of this stay was Jayne and Sid, they honestly couldn't have done more for us. It made our stay feel more like a visit with friends. I have never been so looked after. Thank you so much for everything. Will be back again.

"Oh where to start....the location of the chalet is brilliant - beautiful view and a lovely village feel. Chalet is stunning - modern with such a homely feel. Jayne and Sid are the most amazing hosts that make you feel so welcome. The food is Devine! Home cooked, fresh, flavoursome and delicious! Having your ski passes loaded, ski equipment delivered to the chalet is a massive plus, including taking us to and from the ski lift. Ski area is amazing with lots of choice - especially as I was a beginner. Jayne also helped make the trip extra special contacting local yoga and masseuse for a birthday surprise for a friend. 100% the best trip I have had! Can’t wait to go back!!

"Both the Chalet and hosting were just amazing! We were a group of 8 ladies...skiers and non skiers, ready for some fun and relaxation in the mountains. Jayne and Sid looked after our every need. From pre trip info, ski passes, non ski activities, chauffeuring to and from the slopes. Not to mention the amazing food and wine. A perfect long weekend in a perfect place. Thank you x

They can organise quality ski hire / passes / get you to and pick back up from the lifts in less than 5 mins. Highly Recommended.

"Perfect chalet for an amazing week in the mountains

We had a fabulous time and the Chalet was just perfect for our needs. Spacious, well equipped and with excellent hosts who were incredibly helpful, we couldn’t have asked for more. The food was delicious and Jayne was always very accommodating to fussy eaters.

It is on the outskirts of Morillon and a 40 minute (spectacular) walk to Samoëns but we thoroughly enjoyed the walk and our hosts always dropped off/picked up skiers meaning no walking in ski boots! We were a mixed group ranging from an 11 month baby, 2 school age children, parents (30s and 40s) and grandparents but everyone had a great time. Nice mix of walking, skiing and eating incredible food. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back one day... Thank you Jayne and Sid for your excellent hospitality

"Perfect week!

Had an awesome week staying with Sid & Jayne, nothing was too much bother including helping me sort out a lost ski pass on the first day!! Beautiful accommodation, delicious food and so easy and quick to get to the slopes. Husband and I made the most of the hot tub most nights to ease the muscles..or maybe that was the accompanying glasses of fizz!
We were also very lucky with weather and really rated the Grand Massif area for skiing with lots of lovely runs down through the trees. Think our favourite run was ‘grand cret’ which happens to be the usual home run with a fab pub at the bottom.

All in all a great holiday, would love to go back!

"Best ski holiday ever

We have been ski-ing for over 20 years and can honestly say this was the best holiday experience, that ticked all of the boxes. Beautiful, spacious and well equipped chalet; lovely food; great hosts who worked tirelessly to make our stay perfect. Easy access to good sk-ing in Samoens and Morillon with good links to the varied and excellent ski-ing in Flaine. We definitely want to try and visit Jayne and Sid again.

"Just an amazing holiday. Jayne and Sid were excellent hosts, I can’t get over how helpful and lovely they are. Nothing was too much trouble, at some points I was feeling guilty with how kind they were.

Jayne and Sid have clearly put a massive amount of thought and work into the chalet. It is clear that as experienced ski holidaymakers from prior years they have addressed all the annoyances from catered chalets they have come across. Excellent food, excellent showers, excellent beds, large rooms, beautiful comfortable communal areas, easy access to lifts....I could go on and on!

For once I skied hard, yet had a relaxing holiday with little to no stress. I would definitely recommend and I will be returning in the future. I can see this would not only be a great winter holiday but an excellent outdoor summer holiday.

Thanks again!

"I stayed in Jayne and Sid's beautiful new chalet for a week with a group of friends for the Tour de France. The chalet has been lovingly built and fitted out, and it shows - the décor is modern but comfortable, with lots of personal touches. The bedrooms are large and the beds comfy, each with their own en suite (and lovely rainfall showers!) There's also an accessible bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.

The chalet is well positioned for the lifts up from Morillion and Samoens, so great for summer walking as well as the ski season. We did some really nice walks that were easily accessible by foot or a short drive - along the Giffre river, Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, up the Col de Joux Plane and through the forest into Samoens town centre. It's a good base for seeing the whole of the Giffre valley, which is stunning, though you will need a car to make the most of it.

We took the catered option for the week and the food was excellent. A range of local fare and some dishes from further afield if you get fed up of cheese - Thai curry anyone?

Jayne and Sid are very friendly hosts, but they'll let you get on with your own thing too. We'll definitely be going back in the winter!"

"This new, family run chalet is situated in a beautiful setting with breathtaking views and is still in very close proximity to amenities - in Morillion and Samoens. Our group of six shared the chalet with another group of four (plus an 18mnth old) and there was plenty of room for us all - both private and communal. Our hosts, Jayne and Sid, were easy and laid back and helped to create a comfortable environment in which the two groups got to know each other and meal times were full of chatter and fun. The meals themselves were generous and hearty - and with many of the produce either grown in their own vegetable garden, or sourced from local farmers.

Our room was large and comfortable - with the best pillows I have had the pleasure of sleeping on! The shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water - no matter how many guests were using water at the same time.

Despite it being summer, we used the hot tub on some of the cooler evenings after long, hot walks up the mountains - and then enjoyed socialising around the cosy fire pit.

Overall, this was a great visit and we will definitely be back - to enjoy the home grown produce, friendly hospitality and beautiful surroundings!"

"Had a wonderful 5 nights with Jayne & Sid in their new chalet. Great hosts & showed us some of the best sites around Samoens. Their hospitality was exceptional with the added benefits of a fire pit BBQ & hot tub!" 12 Aug 16

"We had a wonderful time at Pure Alps. The chalet is very comfortable, with great food and lots of space to relax. The Grand Massif has loads to offer which is great as we were a group of mixed ability. The (very long) Cascades run is particularly beautiful and worth doing if it's open. There are also lots of nice shops and restaurants in nearby Samoens.

Highly recommended."

"Fantastic chalet. Beautiful area, lovely hosts, great food. Awesome." 02 Jul 16

"We stayed at Jayne and Sid's beautiful chalet between 15th - 18th February, Jayne had really helped us out of a difficult situation as the chalet we had booked, via Air BNB, cancelled our booking 3 weeks before our trip! Zig Zag recommended Jayne's chalet and our group of 9 couldn't have been happier!

The chalet is in a great location just 5 mins drive from the lift near La Reposette restaurant, up to Samoens 1600. It's incredibly spacious, warm, modern and clean. Jayne has also put some lovely touches to the chalet which makes it feel very homely. It has all the mod cons, oven, microwave, dish washer etc and plenty of space for parking.

Jayne is also very helpful, it's super easy to find, however we did get lost (!) and Jayne came and met us at the local supermarket and guided us back to the chalet, which was 5 mins away!

We definitely would stay again, Jayne is incredibly friendly and leaves you to get on with your holiday, but is on hand when you need her for anything."

"We had a lovely stay in this fabulously spacious new chalet. Jayne and Sid were very welcoming relaxed hosts. The food and wine flowed, the living area was very comfortable for relaxing in the evening - and for our 'whiteout stay-at-home day'. Plans for additions to the chalet sound exciting too: sauna and cinema room in the basement! We'll be back to enjoy the great ski area and this impressive chalet." 02 Jul 16

"It is hard to describe just how perfect the balance is between the warmth and sparkle of Jayne and Sid's welcome, and the stylish mid-century chic of the chalet they have lovingly designed and curated. Everything has been thought through so carefully - from the kitchen equipment (we self-catered), the quality mattresses and bed linen, the bounteous provision of hot water in luxurious showers, and the chest full of games and puzzles. Not to mention the book shelves so full of intriguing literature that you could almost curl up on the sofa with a large glass of vino and forget to venture forth into the beautiful surrounds.

The chalet is HUGE. As a lively party of 14 we much enjoyed the living space (plenty of room for playing the cereal packet game and building human pyramids, oh yes), and easily fitted around the huge tables for our meals. Jayne couldn't have been more helpful - adjusting the bed layout etc to match our idiosyncratic requirements, and furnishing us with all sorts of useful tips for local shopping, eating, ski hire etc. Jayne's eye for design has ensured a chalet that feels exquisite, but is also totally practical, even with a hoard of children in tow. I shall stop gushing now because otherwise you'll all be booking and we'll never get to return.

Morillon and Samoens between them had an array of fun Easter activities to join in with, and both offer a beautiful, old-fashioned alpine charm. The skiing was fun - varied and plenty for everyone of all levels. I'd love to come back in the summer and see the 'other alps'."

"Relaxing and rejuvenating. Jayne and Sid our hosts were welcoming and laid back, creating a warm and open atmosphere for our stay. Our room was really spacious and quiet with a great en-suite. The whole chalet was beautifully furnished in a contemporary style with all the mod cons. The area was beautiful, we were mostly walking as it was spring but we loved the out of season feel and the scenery was stunning. Can't recommend it highly enough!" 02 Jul 16
