Eating out: excellent choice of eating places. Typical savoyard menus, chinese, mexican, indian, the choice is endless. Particular mentions: the Micro Brasserie - Canadian style eaterie with good atmosphere, large portions and home-brewed beer. Casa Valerio - very Italian, excellent pizzas, great pasta and seafood dishes. Le Caveau - wonderfully eclectic menu
Apres ski: good for party animals. BIG choice of bars, with tempting happy hour prices, nightclubs include Le Garage and the swanky No Escape.
Non skiers: fitness centre with indoor pool, sauna, gym. Bowling, ice skating (indoor), climbing wall. Pretty, charming town centre. Chamonix is one of the most visited towns in France - both winter and summer.
