Cuisine:

  • We take great pride in selecting and cooking seasonal, fresh produce. Our menus are balanced and varied using the finest local and imported produce. We can take care of all dietary requirements and aim to satisfy all tastes.
  • Breakfast is your chance to fill before the exertions of the day. Our hearty breakfast consists of fresh French bread, butter and preserves, cereals, yoghurts, porridge, soft boiled eggs, juice, tea and freshly brewed coffee.
  • Upon our return to the chalet in the evening we warm up in front of the fire with tea, coffee or hot chocolate and homemade cakes or maybe creamy shortbread or all butter flapjacks.
  • The evening meal consists of four delicious courses with unlimited red and white wine. We take great pride in selecting and cooking seasonal, fresh produce. Many of our menus have a French flavour (but don’t worry, nothing too extreme for the faint hearted)! We generally select our wines from the surrounding region. During the summer we sample suitable styles and vintages to compliment the food we serve during the winter. (Well, someone’s got to)!
  • The team have one night off per week, so you can use this as an opportunity to sample the local restaurants. These include the fabulous La Bouitte which is a two star Michelin restaurant located in St Martin De Belleville.

Simply the best

"Anyone wanting a fantastic skiing experience must read this. Earlier this year we stayed at the chalet Chardon Bleu in La Combe, a ittle hamlet just below St Martin. A beautiful chalet with a truely homely and welcoming feel.
Our room was extremely comfortable and cleaned every day and the chalet has every comfort you could possibly wish for with all mod cons, (and I believe a hot tub is planned) yet it maintains a traditional french feel.
We travelled with children and were amazed at the welcome they received and how well they were catered for. We particularly welcomed the fact that children had their meals a little earlier so that we could enjoy our meals with adult company. On the subject of meals I can honestly say they were the best I have ever had whilst on a skiing holiday (and the wine was FREE). Although Becky and Darren were more than willing to take us anywhere in the valley we wanted to go at night - we never left the chalet, we had some fantastic nights round the fire with the other guests and didn't feel the need to venture out.
The snow was not at it's best as it was the end of the season but good skiing and boarding could be had in Val Thorens and we appreciated the excellent guiding given by Darren and Becky who were at our bec and call when it came to transporting us around.
For an excellent skiing holiday, in a fabulous chalet with all the extras it has to be Chardon Bleu - we will be returning again VERY soon."
