Chalet Blanche

Welcome to Chamonix Peaks and Chalet Blanche. Gary and I (Helen) have been skiing for many years and in 2010 we decided that we would work a season and we have not looked back. Chamonix is definitely the place to be and has somthing to offer everyone, from skiing, apres ski, massive range of restaurants from cheap and cheerful to Michelin fine dining.   Great location! Superb food! Terrific views! Awesome skiing!
We are less than two minutes walk to the ski bus stop, five minutes walk to Chamonix Sud and the Aguille du Midi and ten minutes walk to the centre of Chamonix.

Accommodation:

Chalet Blanche is a spacious chalet with panoramic views of Mont Blanc. Accomodation is offered over three floors with ample room for 14 adults, it is definitely a serious skiers chalet because of its location, for those that enjoy apres ski it couldn't be more convenient for all that Chamonix has on offer.   Ground floor: hallway, heated boot room and cloakroom, large open plan kitchen dining room, stairs to first floor. Two ensuite double/twin bedrooms, spacious open plan living area with ample seating for 14 adults, cosy log burner, doors to a large balcony with views of Mont Blanc and a guest kitchen. Stairs to second floor. The second floor has 5 ensuite double/twin bedrooms. "Thanks Helen and Gary for a brilliant few days away. Chalet is cosy (and not in a small way) and very convenient for the buses to Les Houches and in the other direction with stops within 100m of the end of the drive. H&G are great hosts and the food and wine was brilliant. Gary - I wasn't kidding when I said could I have the recipe for your Tartiflette - tastiest one ever. Thanks for organising the the transfers with Chamonix Valley Transfers who run a very slick service. All the best." 04 Mar 20

"Had a fantastic time during half term last week with Helen and Gary. The chalet is very cosy, the food is extremely tasty and their hospitality is second to none. Had a thoroughly enjoyable week and would recommend this chalet indefinitely. Star gazing in the hot tub is a must. Would go back in a heartbeat! Thanks for a wonderful week skiing. "Stayed at Chalet Blanche for Feb Half Term week. We had a super week. The chalet is conveniently located close to town, very handy for the Aiguille Du Midi cable car. Helen and Gary looked after us brilliantly. Helen delivered us to our chosen lift every morning after a hearty breakfast cooked by Gary. On our return the cakes waiting in the lounge were some of the best I have had in any chalet. (I have stayed in quite a few over the years.) Our evening meals were brilliant. Gary certainly knows his way around a kitchen and created fantastic food every evening, accompanied by plenty of very pleasant wine. All in all a very good chalet holiday. And the skiing in Chamonix is pretty good as well." 04 Mar 20

Great stay, lovely hosts, highly recommended

"I've been organising short break ski trips for my group for 20 years now, and this chalet certainly ranks high in our experience. Gary and Helen are very helpful, and organised the transfers (using the excellent CVT company), ski hire (delivered to the chalet), and passes.

The accommodation is very clean, quiet and extremely well located within 7-10 minutes of the main town centre. The rooms are large by alpine standards, and all with en-suite facilities. I would describe the rooms and chalet as relatively basic and modest in terms of decor and the single beds are quite small. The social area with it's kitchenette is OK, although lacks a little "warmth" in how it is configured, and wasn't really conducive to a cosy night in. A very old fashioned TV, no iPod or Bluetooth audio, and the size don't help. I'd love to see this area "upgraded"!

The food served by Gary was excellent, and decent sized portions. Some good breakfast options, with fresh bread, but perhaps more cooked options would be nice, as well as proper bakery croissants as opposed to self baked versions.

There is a ski storage area, which being with the boiler is nice and warm for drying out boots etc. although with a full house it get's very cramped in there.

We loved the hot tub, which is a great size, and nice that drinks are allowed...nothing better than a cold beer in a hot tub after a long day!

As others have mentioned, Helen was very happy to drop us off at our chosen ski area every day, but there is also a bus that stops right outside. Overall, highly recommended, with excellent hosts!"

"Just spent Febuary 1/2 term week with Helen and Gary in this great chalet it's location is ideal to get to, we drove to the resort which was simple to find, just near the centre of town and ample parking.

The Ski hires was delivered and collected from the Chalet arranged online before hand and arrived just as we did so no time lost a very good service.

It's ideal to get to all the lifts and the centre of Chamonix as Helen dropped us off in the morning and picked us up with seamless timing with tired legs and ski equipment in the back of the minibus back to the chalet for excellent hospitality and a Cake made fresh by Gary every morning it did not last long with hungry mouths a quick shower or dip in the hot tub with time to relax.

Then we sat down to some of the best food prepared by a very talented chef Gary even looked after my Teenage soon with his picky palet .
Ps the duck is a must.

Nothing was too much trouble a very enjoyable week with family and friends.

Thank You Helen and Gary"

"I stayed for a week here in Jan 2020 and there is much to recommend. The chalet is warm and clean and well located within a short walk to bars and restaurants. Helen and Gary are lovely hosts, friendly and helpful: they know the area.
I had some delicious meals and there was a hot tub available every evening, always welcome after a day on Grand Montet. I would go back!"

"We stayed for New Year with a mixed chalet. Helen went out of her way to ensure we all bonded as a group and had the best time. Working out where to take us to ski each day and joined in and had a laugh. The food Gary cooked was delicious every single night. The chalet was clean and lovely our bedrooms were far more spacious than most in the alps. The modern hot tub was a welcome relief for tired limbs! Centre is within an easy 7 minute flat walk. We had lift passes and ski equipment delivered to the chalet through one of their contacts. Helen will also organise ski transfers. Top marks for our hosts." 23 Jan 20
