Chalet Cannelle
Chalet Cannelle is a luxury ski chalet offering a perfect stay whilst you enjoy the skiing and snowboarding of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski regions in the world. Located in Chatel, the centre of the Portes du Soleil with 600km of pistes crossing France and Switzerland in 12 ski stations with skiing for every ability.
Everything is about comfort - large open plan living space with log fire and views of the Abondance valley through double height windows - the perfect spot to relax after an active day in the mountains. After afternoon tea, take a soak in the outdoor hot tub surrounded in snow before aperitifs and canapés are served around the fire.
There are 6 ensuite bedrooms, each with everything you would expect for a luxury stay; fine linen on comfy beds, sumptuous towels, gorgeous toiletries & bathrobes.
The style of dining at Chalet Cannelle is chefs table, with the open plan kitchen & dining space allowing guests to see what is being created for the evening’s meal; everything is made from scratch with real ingredients so expect to see fresh pasta or pastry being rolled, bread being kneaded or ice cream being churned.
Catered winter stays are available for up to 14 people, max 10 adults and children age 5+

The dining experience at Chalet Cannelle is why many of our guests return each year. The large dining table next to the open kitchen gives you the chef’s table experience every night. This is where Andy spends the day, making all manner of creations from scratch for you to enjoy after your day in the mountains.
We love everything about food. Growing it, picking it, sourcing it, preparing it, eating it. It has been a delight for us to travel and be inspired by incredible chefs, return to the chalet and recreate the flavours we have experienced for our guests.

Freshly baked afternoon tea.
Dinner on 5/7 nights: The evening starts with an aperitif and canapés, followed with a 4 course dinner prepared in house with different matching wines each evening.
We provide an early dinner for children.
B&B stays in Summer
In the Summer, we offer B&B with a hot breakfast option. If you book the whole chalet, we can also offer dinner for your stay using the local seasonal produce that is in abundance at this time of year.

"Our third stay at this beautiful chalet. Lorraine and Andy are simply wonderful hosts - the food is awesome, the matching wines varied and delicious and the chalet feels like a home from home. The minibus service to the slopes makes the day even more relaxed and coming home to freshly baked cake, the fireplace and the hot tub is just the icing on the cake! "A gem in the mountain!We had an amazing stay at Chalet Cannelle. First we discovered a beautiful region in the Alps with lots of things to do during summer time.
The service from Lorraine & Andy is outstanding.
The combination between the design & the atmosphere of the Chalet makes you feel at home. The bedroom was very comfortable.
The place is quieter than some hotels even though it's an old farm. Perfect breakfast with a large choice of homemade and local foods & products.
I think it could be a perfect place to come back on a retreat, to enjoy peace & quiet while meeting great people.

"Wonderful stay at Chalet Cannelle over the July 14th weekend. Perfect getaway location nested in the French alps at the border with Switzerland. Lorraine and Andy’s recommendations for hikes and dinner were spot on and helped us make the best of that rainy but wonderful stay. Spotless room and a huge bathroom, spacious living room with stunning view on the mountains, yummy breakfast with homemade yogurt and variations on eggs (scrambled, poached, omelette). "My family and I stayed for a long weekend in early July and I have to say I can't wait to go back. Chalet Cannelle is like stepping into a mixed episode of Escape to the Country and Grand Designs. The chalet's gorgeous high ceilings with exposed beams, and the overall style was simply gorgeous. "From the moment I first made an enquiry to the last day of the holiday we were looked after with effective communications and treat like the owners really care.Often when you see pictures the reality is somewhat different - not at Chalet Cannelle - the pictures reflect it as it is - spacious, beautifully maintained, well equipped, spotlessly clean and everything functioning." 02 Jan 16
