Ischgl - Ski, Snowboard & Summer Holidays

Ischgl (pronounced Ish-gull) is an extensive ski resort high in the Alps (4,592 feet), hard on the border with Switzerland, and is almost unknown by non-Europeans.

The town itself is a small Alpine resort built on a knoll in a deep valley, easily walkable from one end to the other, thanks to elevators and short-cut tunnels. No high-rise construction seriously mars the small village effect. The ski area is far above and out of sight from the road, the base stations and the town. Eleven smaller hamlets complete the region, including Samnaun, Kappl and Galtur.

Ischgl has it all—42 lifts, more than 200 km. of wide-open trails, cross-border skiing into Switzerland, off-trail areas, cross-country, small Alpine village atmosphere, inviting local cuisine, both luxury and affordable lodging options, and some of the wildest après-ski and nightlife in Austria.

In summer time the whole area is a fabulous destination to enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery and the hundreds of activities associated with this sort of environment.

Apres Ski

very lively from early afternoon onwards - with many people often out till late still in ski boots. Live music, dancing (including on tables), and a range of atmospheres, from laid back to hectic, all available.
