Ferme La Cee

Les Carroz - Araches la Frasse, Grand Massif, France: self catered, sleeps up to 14 Owner Managed Chalet, Just 2 minutes drive from the ski lifts of Les Carroz in the Grand Massif

Ferme La Cee

This beautiful, owner-managed, recently renovated 19th century Savoyard farmhouse offers modern and cosy living, whilst maintaining the charm of original rustic features such as exposed beams and stonework. The magical and peaceful location makes it ideal for holidays with family and friends during summer and winter.

Accommodation:

2 mins drive to spacious and convenient car park at the bottom of the pistes. Ski bus also stops nearby.

The spacious chalet is laid out over three levels and 280m2. All of the rooms have their own special character, having been tastefully renovated and furnished – please enjoy the photos!

The ground floor includes a boot and ski room with programmable dryers for boots and gloves, a spacious entrance hall with plenty of storage space for jackets and ski gear, which leads to an impressive handmade staircase up to the first floor. Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms with attached bathrooms (one double, one twin), a lounge area, kitchenette and laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Whilst part of the main house, this area can also be closed off as a private apartment, with the option of a separate entrance from the terrace.

The main 50m2 living and dining area is on the first floor, which stretches the full length of the chalet, with access either end onto balconies (one covered, one open), and leads directly into the modern fully equipped kitchen (includes two fridge-freezers and dishwasher) with large central island. The dining area features antique furniture from Zanzibar, and an extendable walnut dining table that comfortably sits 14 guests. There are several comfortable seating areas, including the main lounge that also features a romantic wood burning stove and wide-screen TV (connected with UK and French channels), a collection of board games, books and information on the local area. Also on the first floor are two double bedrooms with attached bathrooms.

Upstairs are three more bedrooms (two bathrooms): one double; one twin; and, a further fun twin room just for small people – under the eaves – that kids will love (with full size single mattresses)! On the mezzanine there is a ‘kids cinema’ featuring beanbags, a flat screen TV and DVD player.

The house is set on 1,500m2 of land with a large south facing terrace that extends into a cosy sunken garden. Guests are welcome to make use of a large gas barbecue in summer.

The short private drive leads to five open parking spaces and two covered. The road and driveway are ploughed early in the mornings when there has been a major overnight snowfall.

"We had a such a lovely holiday here and really felt at home. The location was perfect for our 5 little boys to enjoy the snow, with large hills for sledding and even to practice skiing on. It was a very quick drive to fun activities like the kids ski classes and the luge, and there were wonderful hikes through the woods for the whole family. The home is fully equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable and entertained, and the hot tub was a great bonus. The hosts were wonderfully responsive and helpful, full of lots of local tips. Highly recommend this place!!" 28 Feb 21

"Chalet très chaleureux et fonctionnel, à 5 min en voiture des pistes! Peu accueillir une grande famille ! Nous avons passé de très bonne vacance. L’hôte prend soin de ses voyageurs et reste à l’écoute au cours du séjour ! Merci encore !

"We enjoyed a fabulous week in the chalet during the Feb half term break. The chalet suited our 3 families very well and was certainly spacious enough with 3 floors and 2 bedrooms on each floor. The chalet is beautifully furnished, very warm and comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub was a bonus and much appreciated after a hard day’s skiing. The location is a 5 minute drive from les carroz centre which was fine for us as each family had hired a car. We didn’t use the ski bus so can’t comment on this. There is a lovely bakery a short walk down the hill which is great for morning croissants etc. Communication with the owners was excellent both leading up to and during our stay. All in all a great place to stay and highly recommended!

"A absolutely beautiful renovated farmhouse in a quiet hamlet just a couple of minutes drive and on direct bus route into Les Carroz.
There is so much space for a large group, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the views are stunning. We would highly recommend.

"Please visit this place - or we will!
Paul and Silke were superfriendly and helpful with suggestions about what to do and see in the area (in the summer). The place was very clean and very beautiful and stylish. The area offers a lot to do and see for children of all ages and for adults. There are many hikes and walks and the views are breathtaking.

"Wonderful house!
We stayed with a group of 7 adults and 5 teenagers at Ferme La Cee for 1 week in July and enjoyed it so much! The house is beautifully refurbished and really charming - it offers plenty of space on 3 levels with every sleeping room having its own bathroom.
On arrival we immediately felt somewhat being home (especially when finding some cooled beer left in the fridge :-)), just at another location. The rooms and kitchen were clean (and sanitized due to COVID 19 situation) and well equipped and we basically had everything we needed to feel comfortable.
Our kids enjoyed the Whirlpool outside and we also used the gas operated BBQ a couple of times. Communication with Silke and Paul was very good and quick and also handover with their local representative Noemi was uncomplicated. Ferme La Cee is a great place to stay and honestly speaking I was hesitating to write this assessment to rather keep it a hidden secret - otherwise, we will probably have issues booking it again next year :-)
