Where you stay in Les Menuires depends on what you want from your holiday. La Croisette is the main centre and is a good choice if you want easy access to shops, restaurants, bars and the ski lifts. Les Bruyères is a popular, slightly quieter area with a good selection of restaurants and direct access to the slopes, while Reberty is one of the highest parts of the resort and is particularly attractive for its ski-in/ski-out accommodation and views. Preyerand is lower down and offers a quieter setting, with easy access to the centre by the resort’s lifts and shuttle services. For the most convenient skiing, look for accommodation close to the slopes and lifts in La Croisette, Les Bruyères or Reberty.

Yes. Les Menuires is an excellent choice for a family ski holiday, with a good range of beginner-friendly slopes, ski schools and convenient accommodation close to the pistes. The resort is relatively compact, making it easy to get around, while areas such as La Croisette and Les Bruyères have plenty of family-friendly restaurants and activities. There are also dedicated children’s areas and plenty to do away from the slopes. The resort’s access to the wider Three Valleys means more experienced family members can enjoy a huge variety of skiing while younger or less confident skiers stay on gentler terrain close to the resort.

Yes. Les Menuires is a very good choice for beginner skiers, with several gentle, dedicated learning areas and a good selection of easy green and blue pistes. The resort’s ski schools cater well for both children and adults, and beginners can progress onto longer runs without having to venture far from the resort. Once confidence builds, the wider Three Valleys offers an enormous choice of mostly gentle blue runs to explore. Its high-altitude setting also means beginners have a good chance of finding reliable snow conditions throughout the season.

ESF Les Menuires is the largest and most established ski school in the resort and a particularly good choice for families and beginners. It has more than 200 active instructors, offers group and private lessons for all ages and abilities, and has meeting points at La Croisette, Les Bruyères and Reberty 2000.

For a more personal experience, Prosneige offers smaller group lessons as well as private instruction, while Oxygène is another independent option worth considering, particularly if you are looking for English-speaking instructors or more specialised coaching. The Ski School Les Menuires – Saint Martin de Belleville specialises in private lessons in English and can arrange everything from beginner instruction to off-piste guiding.

It's also a good idea to ask your accommodation provider/chalet hosts as they will most likely be able to give you some great recommendations.

Yes. Les Menuires is an excellent choice for intermediate skiers, with a wide variety of blue and red pistes both around the resort and across the wider Three Valleys. Confident intermediates can quickly reach Val Thorens, Méribel and Courchevel, opening up hundreds of kilometres of varied terrain to explore. There are plenty of long, enjoyable runs for improving technique, as well as more challenging reds for skiers looking to progress. Les Menuires is particularly good for intermediates who want the freedom to explore a huge ski area while still having plenty of accessible skiing close to their accommodation.

Yes. Advanced skiers will find plenty to challenge them in Les Menuires and the wider Three Valleys. The resort has a selection of steeper red and black pistes, including some demanding descents around the higher slopes, while the surrounding Three Valleys opens up an enormous choice of challenging terrain. Experienced skiers can also explore extensive off-piste routes with a qualified guide, particularly around the Belleville Valley and towards Val Thorens. Les Menuires may not have the same reputation for extreme skiing as some of the more famous Alpine resorts, but its huge linked ski area means advanced skiers have plenty of terrain to explore.

The best lift pass depends on how much of the Three Valleys you plan to ski. If you are mainly skiing in Les Menuires and the Belleville Valley, the local Les Menuires pass is the more economical option and gives you access to a good range of terrain.

If you want to make the most of the wider Three Valleys, including Val Thorens, Méribel and Courchevel, it is worth upgrading to the full 3 Vallées pass. For most intermediate and advanced skiers, the wider pass is a good choice, particularly if you are staying for a week and plan to explore the area.

Families and mixed-ability groups may find the local pass better value if less confident skiers are likely to stay mainly around Les Menuires. Pass prices vary by season and dates, so check the current rates before booking.

Yes. Les Menuires is included in the full Epic Pass through its access to the Three Valleys (Les 3 Vallées). Full Epic Pass holders receive seven consecutive days of unrestricted skiing across the entire Three Valleys ski area, including Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Méribel and Courchevel. The Epic Local Pass and Epic Day Pass do not currently include access to Les 3 Vallées.

Geneva Airport is generally the best choice for flying to Les Menuires, with the widest range of international flights and regular airport transfer services to the resort. Chambéry Airport is closer and can mean a shorter transfer, but has a much more limited selection of flights. Lyon Airport is another good alternative, particularly if you find a better flight or transfer time. Les Menuires is around 27km from Moûtiers, which is the nearest railway station and a useful connection point for transfers to the resort.

The easiest way to get from the airport to Les Menuires is by pre-booked airport transfer, with shared and private services available from Geneva, Chambéry, Lyon and Grenoble. Geneva is the most popular choice for international visitors, with the journey taking around 2½–3 hours depending on traffic and weather, while Chambéry is closer but has fewer flights. Shared transfers are generally the cheaper option, while a private transfer takes you directly to your accommodation and can be particularly convenient for families and groups with ski equipment. Alternatively, you can travel by train to Moûtiers, the nearest railway station, which is about 27km from Les Menuires, and continue by bus or taxi.

Yes. Les Menuires is easy to reach by train, with Moûtiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains the nearest station, around 27km from the resort. From Moûtiers, regular buses run directly to Les Menuires, with the journey taking around 30–45 minutes. Taxis are also available from the station. Train travel can be a good alternative to flying, particularly for visitors travelling from the UK or elsewhere in France, as high-speed and international services connect with Moûtiers during the winter season.

Les Menuires has a lively and friendly après-ski scene, although it is generally more relaxed and family-friendly than neighbouring Val Thorens.

La Croisette is the main hub, with several bars offering live music, DJs and a good atmosphere after skiing, while Les Bruyères and Reberty have their own more laid-back options. Jacks, Le Challenge and La Mousse are among the popular spots for drinks, music and après-ski, with plenty of bars offering sunny terraces and mountain views.

If you are looking for a big party atmosphere, Val Thorens has more to offer, but for a sociable drink, live music and a relaxed evening after skiing, Les Menuires has plenty going on.
