Morillon - Ski, Snowboard & Summer Holidays
As one of the villages of the Grand Massif Morillon is a traditional farming hamlet which has been augmented and extended in recent years to cater for the growing popularity of the ski area.
It has easy access from Geneva airport and is a convenient and charming base to explore the area at any time of year.
Antoine Deneriaz is a local hero - he grew up in Morillon and won gold in the 2006 Turin Olympics. No doubt he practised on the long and wide tree-lined pistes which lead down to Morillon village.
As part of the Grand Massif, Morillon offers easy access to the other villages; Les Carroz, Samoens and Flaine are a short hop using the constantly improving network of lifts. The Morillon area itself offers some good practice slopes for beginners and early intermediates, and well pisted blues and red which make carving your turns a joy. There is a children's snowpark and some good opportunities for off piste. Neighbouring Samoens offers some more challenging blacks and over the hill at Flaine there are further possibilities for all levels of skier and snowboarder.
Morillon is a charming base for a
summer stay in the Alps.
Enjoy wonderful scenery, extensive walking trails, Lake Geneva, Annecy and Chamonix
are good days out from here too.
