Stayed there w/c 8th January 2011.
Fantastic intimate Chalet on the outskirts of Chatel centre. Alasdair and Emilie are the perfect hosts - they can't do enough to make your stay there as enjoyable as possible. Food is excellent with plenty of wine to go around. Also have a honesty bar with beer, red and white wine and soft drinks.
Overall, the quality of the chalet itself is excellent - sound proofing upstairs is not perfect, but you expect that from a Chalet anyway. Heated boot warmers and an outdoor hot tub are definite big wins! Large balcony around the chalet to keep your beers cool in the winter.
Lifts to and from the slopes when you want them virtually make the place ski-in ski-out, so don't worry about the location being out of town. Just makes the place quiet and private in a good way. Also a supermarket 500m down the road. The two days of ski hosting were also excellent.
The whole chalet experience is the best I've experienced. Felt like a real 'home from home' experience. The ski area alone makes the location a firm favourite and this chalet certainly appears at the top of the 'must return' list. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of Alasdair and Emilie in future years. Great stay, excellent welcome, sad to leave.
For a scotsman Alasdair's English isn't too bad either :-)
