Turracher Hohe

Turracher Hohe Ski, Snowboard & Summer Holidays

Nestled in the heart of the Nockberge Mountains, Turrach-Predlitz is a unique holiday region comprising 4 villages: Einach (915 m), Predlitz (923 m), Turrach (1,269 m) and the ski resort of Turracher-Höhe.

Turracher-Höhe is a high alpine environment which is blanketed in snow from October through to May due to its unique location, making it ideal as a snow sure ski resort. In the summer months it also benefits from its close proximity to the Italian and Slovenian border, getting much sunnier and warmer Mediterranean weather than the more traditional high altitude resorts further west in Austria. It is therefore a great location for a winter or summer holiday. It is also in the middle of a ring of fascinating urban centres to visit on day trips Salzburg (2 hrs), Vienna (3.5hrs), Graz (2hrs), Trieste (3hrs) and Venice (3.5hrs)

Between November and early May the varied winter wonderland Turracher Höhe with its snow assured slopes, reaching up to 2,205 m in altitude, attracts visitors with scenic cross-country trails, winter walking paths and a mountain lake which turns into an ice skating rink in winter.

Among the many advantages of the resort are its high altitude location and manageable size offering excellent conditions no matter whether you are skiing, boarding, cross-country skiing, winter and snowshoe hiking, walking, ski touring, ice skating or night tobogganing.

Those looking for more riding fun away from the wide and impeccably groomed slopes will find that extra kick on the brand-new Funslope Turracher Hhe which is one of the largest of its kind worldwide with a total length of 850m! Upgraded with new features, the Snowpark is sure to excite rookies and pros alike.

Located on a high plateau with three mountain lakes (Turracher See, Grnsee and Schwarzsee), the village of Turracher Hhe is home to Austrias largest continuous stone pine forest and framed by the gentle yet impressive peaks of the Nockberge mountains.

The idyllic natural jewel on the border between the provinces of Carinthia and Styria at 1,763 metres above sea level is a little Alpine world in itself with exceptional assets and amazing scenery that appeal to all kinds of visitors.

Here mountain walkers, hikers, runners, Nordic walkers, mountain bikers and everyone else who enjoys nature and loves the mountains, will come into their own. Further unique attractions include the Nocky Flitzer alpine roller coaster and the Nockys AlmZeit family adventure park right off the Panoramabahn cable car's mountain station.
