So it’s coming to the the end of a hard year for my family having lost our grandpa recently so I want to surprise them with the ski trip in January. Fresh mountain air, lots of wine and some quality time together will hopefully be the perfect antidote. Since this is the first time taking my family on holiday I’m on a bit of a budget so any deals are welcome!
Not looking for anything too luxurious, just warm and cosy. Ski in ski out would be preferred but that’s dependant on resort and I’m open to ideas on that front. We’ve been to a few resorts in the french alps, our favourites are Avoriaz, La Clusaz, Meribel. Definitely happy to return to one of these but I’m open to a smaller resort with similar charms this time round.
Apres is not really the priority. We are intermediate to experienced skiers (and I’m a snowboarder) so a mix challenging reds/blacks,, powdery off piste & long alpine forest routes would be perfect. After a bit of research some intriguing resorts/villages seem to be Les Carroz, Serre Chevalier, Orelle.

We have availability in the self-catered apartment of our chalet in Morzine for 20th-27th Jan. The apartment sleeps up to 5 people, and has one bedroom that sleeps 3, and a lounge/dining room which doubles up as a 2nd sleeping area with a banquette that has 2 proper single beds (one is stored under the other and raises to the same height). It is the first level of the chalet, which looks out onto the garden and the spectacular views beyond, and has:
